PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – J.J. Hickson had 18 points and 18 rebounds for his sixth straight double-double, and the Portland Trail Blazers beat the Denver Nuggets 101-93 last night. Nicolas Batum had 22 points to give the Blazers their first four-game winning streak of the season despite missing forward LaMarcus Aldridge because of a sprained left ankle.

SEATTLE (AP) – C.J. Wilcox scored 21 points, and Washington used one of its best defensive efforts of the season to shake pesky Cal Poly 75-62 last night for the Huskies’ first three-game win streak of the season. Scott Suggs added 12 points for the Huskies, who play one more home game tomorrow against Northern Illinois before beginning a challenging four-game road swing beginning Dec. 29 at Connecticut.

CHENEY, Wash. (AP) – Weber State opened Big Sky play by producing a well balanced scoring attack to rout Eastern Washington 74-53 last night. Weber State led 37-26 at halftime but lit up the scoreboard in the second half to eventually lead by as many as 27 with just under 12 minutes to play. Venky Jois scored 21 points and grabbed five rebounds to lead Eastern Washington.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Portland State opened Big Sky conference play with a 63-49 win over Idaho State last night. Lateef McMullan scored 20 points and Michael Harthun scored 13 points. Portland State shot 53 percent from the field for the game, while Idaho State shot 46.8 percent.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – Oregon coach Chip Kelly says the Ducks have cooperated fully with the NCAA investigation into the school’s use of recruiting services, and he isn’t particularly surprised that the process has taken so long. Kelly spoke after practice yesterday, addressing an Yahoo Sports report that Oregon is likely headed toward a hearing with the NCAA committee on possible infractions because the two sides couldn’t come to an agreement on appropriate sanctions.
