Taking a look at Coast Radio Sports…

Siuslaw Cross Country standout Matthew Campbell is Coast Radio Sports’ Athlete of the Week.  The senior captured his second straight individual Far West District Cross Country Title, matching his previous personal best time of 15:30.  Campbell has placed high in all four years of his high school career at the Far West Meet; beginning with a 6th place finish his freshman year; finishing second his sophomore year.  Honorable Mention goes to Mack Marbas who finished third at the Far West meet just one-tenth of a second off his personal best time of 15:48 for his third straight top-five finish at District.

The Oregon Ducks had seven players score in double figures; Dominic Artis led the way with 17; on the way to a 102-75 exhibition win over Concordia last night at Matthew Knight Arena.  It was the first competition of the year for the young squad under the direction of head coach Dana Altman.

After moving around a bit, the game time for tomorrow’s volleyball playoff match between St. Paul and the Mapleton Sailors will be at seven pm.  Mapleton Athletic Director Aaron Longo said the seven pm start will allow parents to more easily make the trip to St. Paul in time for the first serve.
