Taking a look at Coast Radio Sports…

The Siuslaw Vikings clinched at least a share of the Far West League volleyball crown last night at home with a four-game victory over the North Bend Bulldogs.  Hannah Bartlett had 23 assists; Lona Dengler a dozen kills and ten assists; and Alex Dodson had 13 perfect serve receive passes.

Sutherlin kept pace a game behind the Vikings with a five game win over Douglas.  South Umpqua got by Brookings in four games.

In Reedsport, the Braves split the first two games with Glide, then swept the Wildcats in the next two for the four-game win.

Mapleton didn’t let up last night at home with an easy three-game win over Alsea.  Angelina Decker had six aces for the Sailors; Liz Harry had seven kills and four aces.

Duel in the Desert???

Arizona State forced a turnover on  Oregon’s first possession and scored quickly, but the Ducks then ripped off 43 straight points.  It was over by the middle of the 2nd quarter in Tempe last night as #2 Oregon ultimately came out on top 43-21.

Marcus Mariota found the end zone in three different ways:  He scampered for an 86-yard touchdown run; threw one pass for a score; and he caught a flip from Bryan Bennett at the two yard line and dove across the goal line.
