Gas prices up for holiday

Hurricane Irene sent wholesale gasoline prices up just in time for the Labor Day holiday.  The national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded, as measured by Triple-A, increased four cents a gallon this week and is now at $3.61.  Oregon’s average went up three cents to $3.75, while the average in Florence increased by six cents… it’s now at $3.68 a gallon.  Marie Dodds with Triple-A said many east coast refineries shut down for the duration of the storm but appear to have escaped any major damage.
