Taking a look at Coast Radio Sports…

The Three Rivers Sandblasters fell twice to the Eugene Challengers last night; losing game one 10-nothing in a ten-run-rule-shortened contest.  Game two was also a shutout… the Challengers coming out on top one-nothing.

The Eugene Emeralds picked up their 20th win of the season last night, taking the rubber match of a three game series against Vancouver, 3-1, at PK Park in Eugene.  Starter Brandon Alger continued his string of throwing 20-scoreless innings, leaving the game after the third inning and passing on a two-run lead.  Reliever Will Scott then became the pitcher of record.  He gave up one earned run and three hits.  First baseman Goose Kalunki was two-for-four at the plate with two doubles; he leads the Emeralds with a .339 average.

The Emeralds are at home again tonight where they begin a five game series against the Boise Hawks.
