SEATTLE (AP) – Ichiro Suzuki (EE’-cheer-oh soo-ZOO’-kee) and the Seattle Mariners chased Texas’ Yu Darvish after just four innings in his shortest start of the season, and the Mariners rolled to their fourth win in a row, a 6-1 victory over the Rangers last night. Seattle became the first team that Darvish had to face for a second time and for a second time he struggled to solve the Mariners. Felix Hernandez rebounded from consecutive poor starts to hold baseball’s top offense to one run in eight innings.

SEATTLE (AP) – The Texas Rangers have placed right-hander Neftali Feliz on the 15-day disabled list with right elbow inflammation and recalled reliever Yoshinori Tateyama from Triple-A Round Rock. Feliz was sent to the DL yesterday, three days after walking five and throwing 51 balls among 100 pitches in a 4-1 win over Houston. Feliz came out after 4 2-3 innings, missing a chance to get the win. The 24-year-old is in first season as a starter for Texas after two years as closer. He’s 3-1 with a 3.16 ERA.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – The Oregon baseball team will finish its regular season this week with a pair of nonleague games against Portland and then a huge Civil War series against Oregon State. The fifth-ranked Ducks enter the week at the top of the Pac-12 standings with a one-game lead over Arizona. Standing in their way of the championship is 23rd-ranked Oregon State, who will be looking for revenge after the Ducks swept the Beavers last year.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The University of Portland women’s soccer team led the nation in attendance for the seventh year in a row. The Pilots averaged 3,110 fans per game at Merlo Field last season – the only school to average more than 3,000 fans. BYU was second in the nation with a per-game average of 2,882 fans per game, giving the West Coast Conference the top two spots in the rankings. Portland set the NCAA record for attendance in 2008, when more than 47,000 fans showed up for games.
