PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Police say a 49-year-old man stripped naked at Portland International Airport as a protest against airport security screeners. Police say they arrested John E. Brennan of Portland for investigation of indecent exposure and disorderly conduct. A police report said Brennan’s actions last evening caused some passengers to cover their eyes and their children’s eyes while others looked, laughed and took photos. He missed his flight to San Jose.

CHICAGO (AP) — The Field Museum in Chicago has a new president. The museum has announced its board of trustees appointed University of Oregon professor Richard Lariviere (lah RIV’ yair) to the position. Lariviere replaces John McCarter, who is retiring. Lariviere is a Sanskrit scholar and professor of Sanskrit and Indian Studies at the university. He was president of the University of Oregon from 2009 to 2011.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) — A condemned inmate spared the death penalty is back in court today in his challenge of a reprieve granted by Gov. John Kitzhaber. A Marion County judge is not expected to rule yet on Gary Haugen’s request, but he could decide whether to let the governor’s office join the case. The primary purpose of the hearing is to schedule future proceedings.

TILLAMOOK, Ore. (AP) — State Police say a car carrying a man and his wife plunged down a 100-foot embankment and into the Wilson River east of Tillamook, trapping the 70-year-old woman for about a half hour. Lt. Gregg Hastings said the woman was reported in critical condition last night.
