Here is the latest Oregon news from The Associated Press
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The National Weather Service has issued a
winter storm warning for much of Oregon through tomorrow for heavy
snow. Forecasters expect 1-to-3 feet of snow in the higher
Cascades, 10-to-20 inches in the Coast Range, and 5-to-18 inches in
much of Eastern Oregon. There could be blowing and drifting of snow
in eastern Oregon.

FOREST GROVE, Ore. (AP) – Police say weather does not appear to
be a factor in an accident that injured a 6-year-old Forest Grove
boy. Police say the boy darted into a crosswalk where he was struck
by an SUV. He was taken to a hospital and is expected to recover.
The driver was cited for failing to yield to a pedestrian and
driving with a suspended license.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – A man who was shot to death Friday night in
Cottage Grove had been scheduled to plead guilty today in Lane
County Circuit Court in a case alleging he grew and sold marijuana.
The Register-Guard reports witnesses told sheriff’s detectives that
48-year-old Terry Fruichantie was killed by two intruders who
fought with him. The men fled after the shooting.

BEND, Ore. (AP) – A state agency may reconsider its ban on
motorboats on Waldo Lake in the Cascade Range about 40 miles
southwest of Bend. Two years ago, the Oregon Marine Board barred
gas-driven motor use on the lake in an effort to protect the lake
from fuel spills. The Bend Bulletin reports that a group advocating
the use of low-horsepower, four-stroke gas motors has appealed the
decision to the State Court of Appeals.
