Vikings Stay 4A-Move Division; Pirates Defeat Vikings; Prep and College Schedules

Vikings To Stay 4A

The classification and Districting committee for the Oregon school Activities Association has completed its deliberations for the reclassification for schools and Siuslaw will be staying at the 4 a level, but according to the model distributed by OSAA the Vikings will be moving to the Sky Em league with the Cottage Grove Lions, Elmira Falcons, Junction City Tigers, Marist Catholic Spartans  and the Marshfield Pirates.  The change will take place for the 2018-2019 school year and will remain in effect until the 2022 season.

Vikings Walk the Plank Against the Pirates

Marshfield Pirates took the first two sets from the Lady Vikings last night 25-23 and 25-16 putting the Vikings on the edge of a loss, but the viks battled back taking the next 2 sets 25-14 and 25-19.  But in the tiebreaker the Pirates outlasted the Vikings 15-9 taking the match 3-2.  The Lady Viks will be in tournament play Saturday in the Junction City Tournament… The Sailor girls are at home tomorrow hosting Pacific in non league volleyball play. Games get underway at 1 o’clock at Mapleton High School Saturday….

 

On the Schedule:

On the prep schedule tonight in non league 8 man Football, the Sailors will host North Douglas.  Kick off is set for 7 o’clock at Mapleton High School…. Siuslaw had been scheduled to play North Bend. That game was canceled earlier this week.

 

Siuslaw’s harriers will host the East Woahink Lake Cross Country Invitation tomorrow morning at Honeyman State Park.

 

Pac Twelve football on Saturday pits the Oregon State Beavers against the Washington Huskies.  The Beavs are still looking for their first win of the season, tomorrow’s pregame show airs at 4 o’clock on KCFM, kick off is set for 5 o’clock in Corvallis…. The Ducks will host Justin Wilcox and the Cal Bears tomorrow evening at Autzen Stadium.  Pregame on KCST is set for 5 o’clock, kick off at 7:30 in Eugene.
