Vikings Tough Outing; Beavers Win; Ducks Hammer Offense; Emeralds Take Two of Three

Vikings First Outing Tough!

Friday evening the Siuslaw Vikings had a tough first outing against the visiting Elmira Team.  It was a very vocal opening season crowd, but an early 60 yard touchdown run for junior Elmira running back Brady Nagel set the tone for the game.  Despite good efforts from several Viking players, including Senior Trent Reavis who played ironman ball, they couldn’t get a rhythm against the Falcons.  Elmira blanked Siuslaw 50 to Nothing.

Beavers Hold Off Portland State

College Ball…on Saturday, the Oregon State Beavers managed to win against the Portland State Vikings.  35-32.  The Vikings had a chance to tie it up and send it to overtime but the kick went wide right.  OSU QB Jake Luton told the press that while it may not have been pretty, it was a win.

Ducks Roll Over Southern Utah

The Oregon Ducks couldn’t stop scoring on Saturday evening as they routed visiting Southern Utah.  The Ducks racked up 77 points in an exciting display of offense.  The ducks went up 21 at the half and the Thunderbirds did not see the inside of the endzone for the entire second half.  Final Score 77-21.
