Emeralds And Aqua Sox Battle

The Eugene Emeralds finished up their series with the Salem-Kaiser Volcanoes on Friday evening with a win as they took game three 8-3.  Traveling to Everett to take on the Aqua Sox on Saturday the Em’s won the first of the 5 game series 3-2.  Last night the Aqua Sox came out with 3 runs in the third inning and took control of the diamond.  The Emeralds managed one run after the bases were loaded and center fielder Brandon Hughes was hit by a pitch scoring Gustavo Polanco.  Game three of the 5 game series continues this evening at 7:05.

Beavers Take a Pounding

The Oregon State Beavers received an old school thrashing from the Colorado State Rams on Saturday.  The non-conference match up doesn’t count against Beavers in Pac-12 play, but it was an eye-opening experience.  Running Back Ryan Nall managed to rush for 115 yards, but the Ram offense was too much for the Beaver Defense racking up 58 points.  The Beavers offense did manage to score 27 points in the losing effort.  The Beavers only trailed by 4 at the half, but the Rams kept pounding the ball in the end zone in the second half.  Final Score 58-27.  The Beavers bring the action home Saturday against the Portland State Vikings at 11 a.m.  Pregame on KCFM is at 10.
