Emeralds Claw Hawks
The Eugene Emeralds tied their series with the Boise Hawks last night. Jose Albertos pitched 5 innings giving up 4 hits and 1 run and striking out 8 in the Ems 3-1 win over the Hawks. Right Fielder Jose Gonzales had a triple in the second inning scoring two runs and a wild pitch scored second baseman Johnny Bethencourt in the 5th inning. Ems pitchers combined for 13 strike-outs on the night. The Salem Keizer Volcanos call on the Emeralds tonight at PK Park for the first of three games in Eugene. First pitch is set for 7:05.
5k Salmon Run Saturday
Registration for the 5K Salmon Run/3k Walk fundraiser is open until Thursday August 24th at 5pm. You can register for the Saturday August 26 race online at Eclectic Edge Racing dot come. The race begins Saturday morning at 9 on the Mapleton School Campus, and runs up East Mapleton Road along the Siuslaw River, before switching back to end back on campus. A fundraiser, the 5K Salmon Run and 3K walk is held by The Siuslaw Watershed Council and their conservation the US Forest Service and the US Coast Guard.
