Emerald’s Errors = Loss

The Eugene Emeralds drew first blood last night at PK Park.  But it wasn’t until the fifth inning.  They managed to keep the Spokane Indians at bay for 8 innings, leading 1 nothing into the top of the ninth.  When a couple of errors and a pair of walks set up a 2 run inning for the Indians.  In the bottom of the ninth the Ems went down one, two, three and the game ended 2-1 for the Indians.  The Emeralds travel to Hillsboro for a three night stand against the Hops.  First Pitch is at 7:05.

OSU Women’s Soccer

While the focus may be on the upcoming college football season, the other football season begins for the Beavers on Friday.  The women’s Soccer team will take on the  Kansas State Wildcats at Lorenz field.  The Beavers have their two top scoring players returning this year in Faris and Higgins.  Coach Linus Rhode enters his 10th season as the Beavers Head Coach.  Game time is 7 p.m. this Friday.
