Mapleton 300 track and field

The Mapleton Sailors won both the boys and girls team competitions at yesterday’s Mapleton 300 meet.  The Sailors scored 50 points for each gender… Alsea was second for the boys with 37 points; also second for the girls with 42 points.  No sprints or middle distance races were run because Mapleton has still not been able to paint lane lines due to constant rains.  Josi Hays dominated the throws, winning the girls’ shot put, discus, javelin and the hammer throw.  For the boys, Cole Spencer won the 15-hundred and the high jump; Tanner Wilson captured the discus title and the javelin; Tyler Packebush won the pole vault.
