(AP) — Albert Pujols hit his 592nd career homer and a tying two-run single in the ninth inning before Cliff Pennington’s drive to the wall capped the Los Angeles Angels’ rally from a six-run deficit for a 10-9 victory over the Seattle Mariners on Sunday. Robinson Cano had a three-run homer and a two-run double for the Mariners, who fell to 1-6 after the loss at Anaheim.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — The Portland Trail Blazers clinched the final playoff spot in the Western Conference on Sunday when Denver lost to Oklahoma City 106-105. Russell Westbrook, who had his NBA-record 42nd triple-double, hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to knock the Nuggets out of the postseason.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — The Portland Trail Blazers, who were idle Sunday, have two regular-season games remaining: at home Monday against the Spurs and Wednesday against the Pelicans. Then, Portland will play the defending Western Conference champion Golden State Warriors in the opening round. The game schedule has not been set.

EDMONTON — Connor McDavid hit the 100-point mark and Jordan Eberle recorded a hat trick as the Edmonton Oilers beat the Vancouver Canucks 5-2 Sunday night in the final regular-season game on the NHL schedule. Edmonton will open the playoffs at home against the San Jose Sharks on Wednesday.
