Siuslaw baseball wrapped up the Newport tournament yesterday with an 11-1 loss to the Philomath Warriors. The Vikings will be back on the diamond next Tuesday in Pleasant Hill.
College baseball
The top ranked Oregon State Beavers trailed 3-1 headed into the top of the ninth in Moraga, California, but a three-run rally put them on top 4-3 where they held on for an non-league game over Mount Saint Mary’s. The Beavers will be in Stanford Friday to begin a three game series against the number 11ranked Cardinal.
Oregon managed one run in the top of the third inning in Portland yesterday, holding on for a one-nothing victory over the Pilots. The Ducks will be at Smith’s Ballpark Thursday in Salt Lake City where they’ll open a three game Pac-12 series against Utah.
