PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Damian Lillard scored 30 points and the Portland Trail Blazers never trailed in a 110-95 victory over the New York Knicks on Thursday night. The Blazers moved within a game of the Denver Nuggets for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — Jordan Mathews hit the go-ahead 3-pointer with under a minute to play and top-seeded Gonzaga survived a rough shooting night for both teams to beat Number 4 seed West Virginia 61-58 Thursday night to advance to the West Regional final. On a night that featured 51 fouls and only 34 made baskets, Mathews delivered the big shot that sent the Bulldogs to their third Elite Eight in school history.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Tyler Dorsey scored 20 points and made the go-ahead layup with 1:08 left, and third-seeded Oregon ended Number 7 Michigan’s dramatic postseason run with a 69-68 victory in a Midwest Regional semifinal on Thursday night. Dorsey, the man the Ducks call “Mr. March,” had his sixth straight game scoring 20 or more points.

SEATTLE (AP) — Washington released high school star Michael Porter Jr. from his national letter of intent. The Huskies confirmed the decision to release Porter on Thursday, one day after new Washington coach Mike Hopkins was formally introduced. Porter had committed to Washington under former coach Lorenzo Romar. Porter’s father, Michael Porter Senior, was an assistant on Romar’s staff.
