OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The Portland Trail Blazers overcame Russell Westbrook’s career-high 58 points to beat the Oklahoma City Thunder 126-121 last night. Allen Crabbe scored 23 points, Damian Lillard had 22 and C.J. McCollum 21 for the Trail Blazers, who won their third straight. Portland shot 55 percent from the field.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Nigel Williams-Goss scored 22 points, Przemek Karnowski added 15 and No. 4 Gonzaga won its fifth straight West Coast Conference Tournament title by beating No. 19 Saint Mary’s 74-56 last night. Gonzaga (32-1) was not particularly sharp in the WCC semifinals, beating Santa Clara by nine to reach the title game for the 20th straight season.

RENO, Nev. (AP) — Deontae North scored 25 points and had three steals as Portland State shot 54 percent and forced 19 turnovers to defeat Northern Arizona 80-67 yesterday in the opening round of the Big Sky Conference Tournament. North made 10 of 15 shots and the eighth-seeded Vikings (15-15) were 31 of 57 from the field.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — University of Oregon football co-offensive coordinator David Reaves spent little more than a day on the job but was paid more than $60,000. The Register-Guard reported Tuesday that Reaves received $3,750 for 26 hours of work when he resigned Feb. 3 after being arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Jill Barta scored 22 of her career-high 37 points in a dominating first half, and Gonzaga earned its first NCAA Tournament bid in three years by holding off Saint Mary’s 86-75 on Tuesday in the West Coast Conference final. Kiara Kudron added 14 points and nine rebounds and Laura Stockton, daughter of Hall of Famer John Stockton, had eight assists as the Bulldogs (26-6) withstood a shaky third quarter to earn their sixth WCC Tournament title in nine years.

SEATTLE (AP) — Cornerback DeShawn Shead and backup linebacker Brock Coyle will not receive qualifying offers from the Seattle Seahawks, meaning both players will become unrestricted free agents when the new league year begins later this week. Cameron Foster, the agent for both players, said Tuesday that the Seahawks have made the decision not to use the tender option as both players are restricted free agents.
