SEATTLE (AP) â Investor Chris Hansen stressed patience and optimism Thursday in his ongoing effort to build an arena to house a possible NBA or NHL franchise in Seattle’s stadium district. Hansen said his group reevaluated the situation after the vote and decided to turn the project into a privately financed facility. Hansen said there would be other investors in addition to the five made public so far â including Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson.
SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) â Nigel Williams-Goss scored 30 points as undefeated and top-ranked Gonzaga beat San Francisco 96-61 Thursday night, extending the nation’s longest winning streak to 27 games. Przemek Karnowski added 23 points and seven rebounds for Gonzaga.
PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) â Lauri Markkanen scored 19 points on 7-of-13 shooting and pulled down 11 rebounds to help Number 5 Arizona overcome an early deficit and breeze past Washington State 78-59 Thursday night. Washington State’s leading scorer Josh Hawkinson struggled against Arizona’s interior size. He finished with seven points on 3-of-9 shooting, and struggled in both matchups against the Arizona this season.
SEATTLE (AP) â Torian Graham scored 29 points and Arizona State won consecutive conference games for the first time this season with an 83-81 victory over Washington Thursday night. Markelle Fultz scored 19 points on 7-of-16 shooting for the Huskies.
EUGENE, Ore. (AP) â Dillon Brooks scored 20 points and Number 7 Oregon defeated shorthanded Utah 79-61 Thursday night to extend the Ducks’ home winning streak to 41 games. Jordan Bell added 17 points for the Ducks, who wore new neon green uniforms that glowed under blacklights during player introductions.
CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) â Derrick White had 20 points and three steals as Colorado held on to beat Oregon State 60-52 Thursday night. Drew Eubanks had 14 points, eight rebounds and four blocks and JaQuori McLaughlin scored 16 points for the Beavers.
