CLEVELAND (AP) — The Cleveland Browns have claimed former Ohio State safety Tyvis Powell off waivers from Seattle. Powell appeared in eight games last season for the Seahawks, who signed him as an undrafted free agent last year. A Cleveland-area native, Powell played in 42 games for the Buckeyes and led the team in interceptions in 2015.

NEW YORK (AP) — Gonzaga is No. 1 for a second straight week in The Associated Press college basketball poll, while Oregon jumped to No. 5. The Bulldogs (24-0) received 59 first-place votes yesterday. Villanova (22-2) moved from fourth to second. Kansas held at third while Louisville jumped to fourth. Oregon, coming off its impressive win over Arizona, went from 13th to fifth.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Police arrested a man accused of firing a gunshot while watching the Super Bowl at an Oregon restaurant. Eugene police Sgt. Bill Solesbee tells The Register-Guard (https://is.gd/1hQw6q ) the suspect was having an argument Sunday with a man at the bar when he pulled out a gun and shot. The bullet struck the bar.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The lucrative Outdoor Retailer show is again considering moving from Salt Lake City. Show organizers announced yesterday they will request proposals from other cities to host three shows a year starting in November 2018. The shows bring Utah an estimated $45 million in annual direct spending.
