OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Russell Westbrook scored 19 of his 42 points in the fourth quarter, leading the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 105-99 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers yesterday. Westbrook also had eight assists and four rebounds. Victor Oladipo added 24 points and 13 boards, helping Oklahoma City (30-22) move within a half-game of idle Memphis for sixth in the Western Conference.
TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Sophie Bruner scored 17 points as No. 23 Arizona State posted a 68-63 win over Oregon yesterday. Sabrina Haines started a run with a 3-pointer at the 6:13 mark, putting the Sun Devils up 57-55. It was the 14th lead change to go with 12 ties. Bruner made a jumper and Quinn Dornstauder had a layup that made it 61-55 with 3:45 to go.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Pinelopi Pavlopoulou scored 14 points, Alexys Swedlund added 13 and Washington State defeated Utah 61-55 yesterday. The Cougars (10-13, 5-7 Pac-12) saw a 13-point lead with 7½ minutes evaporate to two with 1:47 to go on a 3-pointer by Utah’s Malia Nawahine. But the Cougars made four free throws and Utah didn’t score again.
TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — Breanna Brown had 16 points on 8-of-10 shooting, grabbed 13 rebounds and blocked three shots and No. 11 Oregon State held off Arizona 65-57 yesterday for its seventh-straight win. Gabriella Hanson added 13 points for the Beavers (22-2, 10-1 Pac 12), who won their seventh-straight over the Wildcats (11-12, 2-9) and moved a half-game in front of Stanford for the conference lead.
