Vikings claim victory in two Far West Weight classes
Two Siuslaw Vikings faced off in the 285 pound weight class final last night at the Far West League Tournament in North Bend. In the end, it was the elder of the two… Kainan Lane… who came away with the championship. Matthew Horillo was the runner up and brought home the second place medal.
At 113 pounds Richard Huff continued his domination, easily coming away with the title.
The Vikings had two other wrestlers place in the top three… Nick Steinman at 170 pounds; Riley Jennings at 160. The Viking boys will be at the Cottage Grove Invitational tomorrow and Saturday while Ezya Abbas will wrestling at Thurston High School in the girls’ regional final.
On the court tonight…
The Mapleton Sailors will host the Marshfield JV for non-league basketball. The girls tip off at 5:30… the boys immediately following.
In the Pac-12… the quest for a win in conference play isn’t getting any easier for the Oregon State Men. They’ll host number five ranked Arizona this evening at six in Corvallis. The pregame show on KCFM gets underway at 5:30.
In Eugene, 13th ranked Oregon will host Arizona State in the late game. That tips off at eight… the pregame with Jerry Allen is at 7:30 on KCST.
