Here is the latest Washington, Oregon and Alaska sports news from The Associated Press

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Zach Collins had 13 points and No. 3 Gonzaga remained the nation’s only undefeated Division I team with an 83-64 victory over Portland in a game Monday night that was rescheduled because of a winter storm earlier this month. The Bulldogs have won 20 straight games, their longest streak since winning that many in the 2005-06 and 2003-04 seasons. Gonzaga is now 8-0 in West Coast Conference play.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — The Portland Timbers have signed veteran free agent defender Chance Myers, one of several moves the team made Monday before leaving for training camp in Arizona. The Timbers also re-signed defender-midfielder Amobi Okugo, who joined the club last May, and welcomed back winger Dairon Asprilla, who had been on loan with top-division Millonarios in Colombia.

ASHLAND, Ore. (AP) — Southern Oregon football coach Craig Howard, who coached Tim Tebow in high school before leading the Raiders to the NAIA national championship, has died at 64. The university said in a news release that Howard died at home Thursday night after a day of recruiting.

Villanova and Kansas remain the top two teams in The Associated Press college basketball poll while Gonzaga moved up to third. The Wildcats (19-1) beat Seton Hall and Providence last week and received 35 first-place votes from the 65-member national media panel on Monday. This is the seventh week on top this season for Villanova. Kansas (18-1) was No. 1 on 28 ballots. Gonzaga (19-0), the last unbeaten team in Division I, got the other two first-place votes and moved up one spot to third, the Zag’s highest ranking of the season. Kentucky and Baylor both moved up one place to fourth and fifth, while Florida State jumped from 10th to sixth. Arizona had the week’s biggest jump, going from 14th to No. 7 with its win at UCLA on Saturday. The loss knocked the Bruins from third to No. 8. North Carolina and Oregon rounded out the Top Ten.
