RICHLAND, Wash. (AP) — Radioactive contamination is spreading inside a deteriorating processing plant on the Hanford Nuclear Reservation. The Tri-City Herald reports the facility is known as REDOX and hasn’t been used since the 1960s.

GRANTS PASS, Ore. (AP) — A 45-year-old man was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 in southwestern Oregon. The Oregon State Police say the crash happened near Grants Pass about 11:30 p.m. Monday. A preliminary investigation found that a 2003 Ford 150 pickup truck had been travelling northbound when it left the roadway and crashed into a 2004 GMC Yukon that was disabled and parked on the interstate shoulder. Authorities say the pickup rolled over onto its roof in a ditch after the collision.

MOLALLA, Ore. (AP) — Authorities say a man is in custody after fatally shooting his wife during an alcohol-fueled domestic dispute. KGW reports that Clackamas County and Molalla police responded to a call about 9 p.m. Sunday. Police said a husband and wife had apparently been drinking and arguing when he shot her in the face with an unidentified type of firearm. She died en route to the hospital.

MERLIN, Ore. (AP) — Authorities in southwestern Oregon say a preliminary investigation has determined that a 15-year-old boy handling a firearm died after accidentally shooting himself. Oregon State Police in a statement Monday say emergency crews responded at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday to a residence near Merlin where they found the boy dead.
