SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) — V.J. Beachem and Bonzie Colson each scored 16 points Wednesday night to lead Notre Dame to a 92-49 win over Seattle University in the second round of the Legends Classic. Junior point guard Matt Farrell chipped in a career-high 13 points for the Irish (2-0), who took control early with a 15-2 run and led by 31 at halftime. Steve Vasturia also finished with 13 points.

COLFAX, Wash. (AP) — A judge has cleared the way for suspended nose tackle Robert Barber to resume playing football for No. 20 Washington State. Whitman County Superior Judge David Frazier granted Barber’s request for a temporary stay of his suspension from the university for a fight last summer. Washington State coach Mike Leach has said Barber is welcome to rejoin the team if he is cleared to return to school.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — The Oregon Ducks say they are aware of an off-field incident involving receiver Darren Carrington and are handling it internally. Offensive coordinator Matt Lubick told reporters following practice yesterday that the Oct. 30 incident is being handled internally. He did not comment further. The Oregonian reported that Carrington has been accused of pushing a former student near campus following the Ducks’ game against Arizona State.
