RENTON, Wash. (AP) — Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman confirmed he’s been fined by the NFL for unnecessary roughness for his hit on Buffalo kicker Dan Carpenter in last Monday’s game against the Bills. Sherman said he won’t appeal the fine.

NEW YORK (AP) — Seattle forward Jordan Morris has been voted Major League Soccer’s Rookie of the Year after scoring 12 goals in his first professional season. The 21-year-old made his national team debut two years ago while still at Stanford. He received an average of 45 percent of the vote in balloting by players, media and club management that was announced yesterday.

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — The NCAA has announced that New Orleans will host the 2022 men’s basketball Final Four. The announcement, made yesterday, means New Orleans is set to host college basketball’s men’s semifinals and championship game for the sixth time.

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — Christen Press had her fourth career hat trick by the 38th minute, Alex Morgan added two goals, and the U.S. women’s national team whipped up on Romania 8-1 last night. The teams play again Sunday at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.
