OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Derek Carr threw a go-ahead 21-yard touchdown pass to Michael Crabtree on a fourth-and-2 gamble and added another TD pass to Amari Cooper to lead the Oakland Raiders to a 34-31 victory over the mistake-prone San Diego Chargers. San Diego committed four turnovers to spoil third overall draft pick pass rusher Joey Bosa’s debut for the Bolts.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Alana Beard hit a jumper from the baseline just before time expired to lift the Los Angeles Sparks in a 78-76 victory at the Minnesota Lynx in Game 1 of the WNBA Finals Sunday. Kristi Toliver scored 19 points to lead Los Angeles and Parker had 14 points and nine rebounds. MVP Nneka Ogwumike added 19 points for the Sparks in the opener of the best-of-five series.

HOUSTON (AP) — Sabrina D’Angelo made three saves in the penalty shootout and the Western New York Flash won the National Women’s Soccer League championship 3-2 on penalties after a 2-2 draw with the Washington Spirit on Sunday. D’Angelo, who was on the Canadian national team that won the bronze medal at this summer’s Olympic Games, pumped her fists and screamed after stopping Diana Matheson’s attempt for the win at Houston’s BBVA Compass Stadium.
