12th inning sacrifice extends Emeralds’ win streak; Prep volleyball: Vikings open tonight; Beavers take on the Golden Gophers

The Eugene Emeralds extended their win streak to six last night, but it took them 12 innings to secure the 3-2 win over the Tri-City Dust Devils at PK Park.  Yeiler Peguero lifted a sacrifice fly into the outfield to score Jose Gonzalez.   The Emeralds have improved to 52-19 on the season… and with a 24-9 second half record are four games ahead of Hillsboro with five games remaining in the regular season.  Game four of the five game series against Tri-City is tonight in Eugene.

Oregon State kicks off in Minnesota

Gary Anderson’s second season at the helm of Beaver Football gets underway tonight in Minneapolis when the Beavers face the Golden Gophers.  Kick off is at six.  The pregame show on KCFM is at five.

Prep volleyball

Viking volleyball begins the season on the road tonight in Philomath with non-league matches against the Warriors and the Junction City Tigers.  Action begins at four pm.

Mapleton volleyball is in Lowell… they’ll take on the Red Devils in a Mountain West League matchup beginning at noon.  At 1:30 they’ll face Oak Hill in a non-league match.
