Three weekend wins over Indians

After losing the first game of the series Thursday, the Eugene Emeralds stormed back with three straight wins over the Spokane Indians.  The weekend started with a six-run shutout win for the Ems Friday night.  Saturday, the Indians held a one-run lead briefly, but Eugene came away with the 5-4 win.

Yesterday, Emeralds right fielder Kevonte Mitchell smacked a two-run homer in the third inning to lead Eugene to a 4-1 win.

The Emeralds, at 7-3 overall, are at the top of the South Division and have the best record so far in the Northwest League.

Eugene and Spokane wrap up their five game series this evening at PK Park.  The Emeralds head to Boise tomorrow where they’ll start a three game road trip.
