Several Siuslaw athletes scored points for the Vikings in the first day of the 4A OSAA Track and Field Finals at Hayward Field in Eugene. 

Trent Reavis threw the discus 137’3” for fifth place, then in the shot put, he went 50’ ¼” to bring home the 3rd place medal.

Celie Mans and Morgan Bingham went 3rd and 4th in the girls’ 3,000… both with personal records only 17-one-thousandths-of a second apart… Mans was 10:25.53.

Murray Bingham was 4th in the boys 3,000 at 9:05.92.

In the girls’ high jump, Destinie Tatum finished in a tie for 7th with a jump of five feet.

Annmarie Precht qualified for the finals in the girls’ 100 meters; she also has the 200 and the long jump tomorrow.  Mikaela Siegel qualified for the finals in the 100 meter hurdles; she’ll do the triple and the long jumps tonight and tomorrow. .   Kaeli Ramos did not qualify for finals in the girls’ 400.

The girls 4-by-400 relay team runs tomorrow; Tatum will run in the 800 finals this evening; Mans and Morgan Bingham run the girls 15-hundred tomorrow; Murray Bingham the boys 15-hundred.

For the Mapleton Sailors… Hunter Simington was fifth in the boys 1A pole vault, Tyler Packebush tied for eighth.    Packebush failed to qualify for the finals in the boys 110 hurdles.

Josi Hays was 8th in the girls’ discus, she has the shot put this evening.  Erin Michaels was 11th in the girls’ javelin; Alyssa Richards 12th in the girls 3,000.  Spencer Cole failed to qualify in the boys’ high jump.

 

Still to come this evening and tomorrow:  Clarissa Triebskorn has the girls’ 800; Cole Wilson the boys’ javelin; and the girls’ 4-by-400 relay.
