College baseball…

Oregon dropped the opening game of a weekend series at home to the Washington State Cougars, 4-nothing, but bounced back to claim the series with an eight-run shutout win Saturday, then hanging on for an 11-7 win yesterday afternoon.  Oregon is in Hillsboro this afternoon for a non-conference game against San Diego.

Bruce Fehmel (FEM-mul) picked up both wins in relief for the Beavers over the weekend as Oregon State edged the Stanford Cardinal.  Fehmel earned the 3-2 win Friday and yesterday’s 11-4 win.  The Cardinal took Saturday’s game six-nothing.   Jake Thompson started Sunday’s game and had a 1-hitter going through four innings, before Stanford capitalized on an infield error and scored three runs.
