HAPPY VALLEY, Ore. (AP) — Authorities say a toddler has been taken to a hospital after falling out of a third-story window at a home in Happy Valley. The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that emergency personnel responded Wednesday evening to a report of a 2-year-old who had tumbled out of a window.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A Portland-area musician faces up to 20 years in prison after admitting to sexually abusing two young girls. The Oregonian reports that 33-year-old Shaun Toman, of Cornelius, pleaded guilty to charges of sexual abuse and using a child in a display of sexually explicit conduct on Wednesday.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — The city of Portland has agreed to pay $5,000 to a former Portland Fire & Rescue manager who accused then-fire Chief Erin Janssens of grabbing him by the neck. The Oregonian reports that as part of the settlement signed in February, Brian Alcid has agreed to drop the nearly $48,000 lawsuit he filed against Janssens in October.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A coalition of business and neighborhood groups filed a lawsuit against the city of Portland and Mayor Charlie Hales in an effort to toss a new policy that allows the homeless to camp and sleep overnight on sidewalks and public rights of way. The policy was enacted in February as a six-month “experiment” that the coalition says is leading to crime, public safety risks and overall inhumane conditions.
