Lewis, Odor lead Rangers past Seattle 7-3
SEATTLE (AP) — Colby Lewis allowed one run on four hits over six innings against Seattle’s struggling offense and Rougned Odor drove in three runs to lead the Texas Rangers to a 7-3 victory over the Mariners on Monday night.
Lewis (1-0) allowed a first-inning run on Nelson Cruz’s two-out RBI double, then retired 13 straight before allowing an infield single to open the sixth when he failed to cover on Leonys Martin’s bouncer to first.
It was the fourth straight loss for Seattle, which scored just four runs while being swept at home by Oakland in a three-game weekend series. Texas built a 7-1 lead before Cruz’s second homer of the season, a two-run shot off Keone Kela in the eighth.
The Rangers erased a 1-0 deficit with runs in the second, third and fourth off Hisashi Iwakuma (0-1), who gave up three runs on eight hits in six innings.

QB Seth Collins rejoins the Beavers
UNDATED (AP) — Seth Collins is going to stay at Oregon State after all.
Collins had requested a transfer following last season and signed a non-binding financial aid agreement with Northern Illinois, but he remained enrolled at Oregon State and had visited practices this spring.
Head coach Gary Andersen announced his return to the Beavers on Monday.
Collins started seven games at quarterback for the Beavers last year as a freshman, throwing for 936 yards and six touchdowns with four interceptions. He also ran for 580 yards and eight touchdowns.
He missed four games with a knee injury, but returned for the finale against rival Oregon and played at quarterback, receiver and running back.
TRAIL BLAZERS SCHEDULE
Blazers host Denver on Wednesday
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — The Portland Trail Blazers host Denver on Wednesday in their final game of the season.
The Minnesota Timberwolves held off a furious late rally by the Portland Trail Blazers for a 106-105 victory on Saturday night.
With a win, the Blazers would’ve had more control over where they finished in the standings. Now, they will have to depend on help from other teams going into their final game.
NAGBE INJURY
Timbers await word on the severity of Nagbe’s injury
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — The Portland Timbers were awaiting test results on Darlington Nagbe’s left ankle following a scary injury Sunday night against the Los Angeles Galaxy.
Nagbe, who also has been playing for the U.S. national team, had to be taken from the field by stretcher after he was tackled roughly by Galaxy midfielder Nigel de Jong.
Referee Allen Chapman gave de Jong a yellow card for the challenge, but Major League Soccer’s disciplinary committee could issue a suspension.
Nagbe, 25, left the match in a wheelchair.
Timbers coach Caleb Porter expressed concern after the game that de Jong was not shown a red card. If de Jong is suspended, it would mark the third straight week that Portland has seen an opposing player suspended after the fact.
