Elmira Falcons come out on top

A five run second inning was too much for the Siuslaw Vikings to overcome yesterday as the Elmira Falcons cruised to a seven-run shutout win on the softball diamond yesterday.  The Lady Vikings will be at home tomorrow afternoon against the Sutherlin Bulldogs.

Prep baseball… the Falcons downed the Vikings in their home opener 10-6.  Jared Brandt was 2-3 at the plate.  Siuslaw will be in Sutherlin tomorrow for another non-league game.

Beavers end losing skid

Christian Donahue hit his first career home run and Trever Morrison and Kyle Nobach each tripled as the sixth ranked Oregon State Beaver baseball team snapped a four game losing streak with a 9-6 win over San Diego State yesterday afternoon in Corvallis.

The Beavers had ten hits off a half-dozen Aztec pitchers…  Morrison with three of those.

Oregon State will be back in action Friday when they begin a home Pac-12 series against Washington.
