PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The Oregon Department of Corrections is allowing a man convicted of prostitution charges to remain an employee at the state’s only prison for women. The Oregonian reports that Nathan Cantlin, who works as an inmate work program coordinator, was arrested at a hotel in December as part of an undercover operation by Tigard police.

SEASIDE, Ore. (AP) – A humpback whale, two dolphins and a harbor porpoise have been found washed up on the beach at Seaside. KOIN-TV reports that the animals were found last weekend. Seaside Aquarium manager Keith Chandler says researchers have taken one of the dolphins and will perform a necropsy. He attributes the animal deaths to a storm surge.

BURNS, Ore. (AP) – Oregon State Police say two people have died in a head-on vehicle collision just east of Burns. Police say the crash happened yesterday afternoon on U.S. Highway 20 when the driver of a pickup truck tried to pass a commercial vehicle while heading east. The truck slammed into a westbound Cadillac, killing both drivers.

CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) – Jamie Weisner scored 25 points on 9-for-10 shooting to lead No. 9 Oregon State past No. 8 Arizona State 67-44 last night in a matchup of the Pac-12’s top teams. The Sun Devils were seeking a school-record 16th consecutive win.
