NEW YORK (AP) – The Seahawks’ comeback win over the Vikings is the most-watched early Sunday NFL wild-card game on record. NBC says Seattle’s 10-9 victory in frigid conditions averaged 35.3 million viewers, up 25 percent from the 28.3 million for last year’s Bengals-Colts matchup in the same slot. The four games last weekend averaged 32.5 million viewers, up 9 percent from the 29.9 million last season.

UNDATED (AP) — The Portland Trail Blazers host the Utah Jazz tomorrow night in Moda Center. The Trail Blazers are coming off a 115-110 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder. Utah is coming off a two-game winning streak.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) – Daniel Sedin scored his second goal of the night on a power play at 2:21 of overtime, and the Vancouver Canucks stopped the Florida Panthers’ 12-game winning streak with a 3-2 victory yesterday. Sedin snapped a shot past Roberto Luongo with Jaromir Jagr in the penalty box for hooking, tying Markus Naslund’s franchise record for goals with 346.

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (AP) – A U.S. Fish and Wildlife proposal to ban brown bear baiting and other predator hunting practices from lands the agency manages in Alaska is receiving criticism from state lawmakers. The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reports the proposed changes in the National Register would change hunting and trapping rules for national wildlife refuges in Alaska, covering about 77 million acres. Both Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski and Republican Sen. Dan Sullivan oppose the proposed regulations, arguing that they infringe on Alaska’s right to manage lands in the state.
