Here is the latest Washington, Oregon and Alaska sports news from The Associated Press

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Chris Paul had 21 points and 19 assists to lead the Los Angeles Clippers to a 109-98 victory last night over the Portland Trail Blazers, who were without guard CJ McCollum because of a “clerical error.” McCollum was mistakenly left off the team’s active roster that is turned in before the game. The Clippers won their seventh straight game.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – Chris Boucher scored 18 points and Tyler Dorsey had 17 as Oregon held off California for a 68-65 victory last night. Dorsey’s 3-pointer from the left corner with the shot clock at 3 gave the Ducks (12-3, 1-1 Pac-12) a 63-57 lead with 58 seconds to play. Oregon then sealed the win by hitting 5 of 8 free throws to finish the game.

CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) – Rosco Allen had 21 points and eight rebounds as Stanford beat Oregon State 78-72 last night. Marcus Allen added 15 points and three steals, and Dorian Pickens had 14 points for the Cardinal (9-5, 2-1 Pac-12). Gary Payton II had 22 points, nine rebounds and six assists, Stephen Thompson Jr. scored 13 points and Drew Eubanks added 13 points for the Beavers (10-3, 1-1), who had a four-game winning streak snapped.

SEATTLE (AP) – Ken Griffey Jr. was flying high above Seattle. Well, his No. 24 was. Shortly after the former Mariners star was elected to the baseball Hall of Fame yesterday with the highest percentage of votes in history, Seattle raised a giant banner with Griffey’s number on it to the top of the iconic Space Needle.
