KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. (AP) – A man accused of eluding police after shooting at a Klamath County home has been arrested. Sheriff’s deputies and Oregon State Police responded yesterday afternoon after getting a report that a man fired an “AK-47” and then left in a pickup. Police say Stephen Sorensen of Chiloquin was jailed on several charges. No one at the home was injured.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A body that was recovered from the Willamette River has been identified as that of a Portland man who had been reported missing. The Oregonian reports that Eugene Vibar’s body was pulled from the river Monday. His body was discovered near the Fremont Bridge.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The Portland Police Bureau has reassigned an officer who allegedly sent a tweet about an upcoming Black Lives Matter/Don’t Shoot Portland protest. Police leaders say they learned of the tweet yesterday and the officer voluntarily deleted it, but it had been retweeted. Police did not identify the officer.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A black Lewis & Clark College student who told police he was assaulted by three white men on campus says he forgives the attackers. Tanguy Muvuna spoke to more than 200 students, faculty and staff in a packed lecture hall yesterday. If the attackers are students, he says he wants them to finish their studies and make their families and country proud. The Oregonian reports that Muvuna’s words drew tears from some in the crowd.
