Here is the latest Oregon news from The Associated Press

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A strike at a Portland-area beer and wine distributor has slowed deliveries just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday. The Oregonian reports that about 80 workers represented by Teamsters Local 162 went on strike last week at General Distributors Inc. in Oregon City. A General Distributors official says the walkout came as a surprise and claims of firing striking workers are false. Contract talks are scheduled to resume next week.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A body that was recovered from the Willamette River has been identified as that of a Portland man who had been reported missing. The Oregonian reports that the body of Eugene Vibar was pulled from the river Monday. The cause of his death was determined to be drowning. Vibar’s roommate says Vibar said he was going for a walk on Nov. 1, but never returned home.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – An environmental assessment for a proposed oil-by-rail terminal in Vancouver, Washington says the project could have negative consequences for salmon and other fish in the Columbia River. The study says increased river traffic would lessen water quality, cause bank erosion and harm essential fish habitat.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Jimmy Butler scored 22 points, Derrick Rose added 17 in his return to the lineup and the Chicago Bulls held off the Portland Trail Blazers 93-88 last night. Damian Lillard missed a 3-pointer to tie it for Portland with 2:25 left, then missed the second of a pair of free throws with 20 seconds left that would have also pulled the Blazers into a tie. Lillard finished with 19 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists.
