Beats Eddyville in three, hosts Alsea this week in league playoff
The Mapleton Sailors wrapped up the regular volleyball season on the road last night with a three game win over the Eddyville Eagles. The win left them in fifth place… they’ll host sixth place Alsea Thursday evening in a Mountain West League playoff match.
Cheer team member tumbles to Athlete of the Week
Siuslaw Cheer standout Victoria Rojas is Coast Radio Sports’ Athlete of the Week. She competed at the Oregon Cheerleading Coaches Association competition last week in Springfield where she was selected to the seven-person All State team; the first ever member of a Viking Cheer team to achieve that mark.
Honorable mention goes to Scott Gordon, the Siuslaw wide receiver and Defensive Back caught nine passes for 113 yards and returned an interception 90 yards for a touchdown in last week’s Viking victory over the Douglas Trojans.
