Edges South Umpqua in four

Ali Scheer was back in the lineup for the Vikings last night. The Libero had 13 perfect serve-receive passes, 12 digs and three aces as Siuslaw edged South Umpqua in four sets for a Far West volleyball victory at home.

Elyssa Rose had 23 kills and four blocks. Hannah Bartlett 26 assists and 16 digs.

In Mapleton, Olivia Nicol had four aces, three kills and 19 digs, but the Sailors fell to Siletz Valley in three games on the volleyball court last night.

Siuslaw Cross Country will be in Philomath tomorrow for the Paul Marriman Invitational.

Tonight, though, it’s prep football. The Mapleton Sailors will host Falls City-King’s Valley this evening. The Vikings will be in North Bend against the Bulldogs.

College football… Oregon is in Boulder, Colorado tomorrow for a 7:00 kickoff against the Buffaloes. The pregame on KCST is at 5:30. Oregon State has the weekend off.
