Prep Volleyball
The McKenzie Eagles knocked off the Mapleton Sailors last night, 3-1, in a Mountain West League volleyball match in Mapleton. Freshman Alyssa Richards had seven aces and 13 kills to lead the Sailors.

In the Far West League, an injury plagued Siuslaw Viking squad fell to the Douglas Trojans in four games. All four sets were very close with the Trojans winning two of them 26-24. Maci Wells, filling in at Libero, had 23 digs and led the team defensively. Makenzie York had 11 kills and one block.
The loss leaves the Vikings at 2-and-2 in league play. In other Far West matches, league leading Marshfield downed South Umpqua in three; North Bend beat Brookings-Harbor, also in three. That leaves Siuslaw, South Umpqua, North Bend and Douglas all tied in second place.

Woahink XC Invitational
The Woahink Invitational Cross Country Meet, hosted by Siuslaw, is set for tomorrow at East Woahink Day Use area at Honeyman State Park. Teams from at least 20 different schools will be running. Middle school races begin at ten… high school races between 11 and one.
Prep football:
