Here is the latest Washington, Oregon and Alaska sports news from The Associated Press

SEATTLE (AP) – David Murphy hit a three-run homer and Mike Trout added a solo shot to power the Los Angeles Angels to a 4-3 victory over Felix Hernandez and the Seattle Mariners last night. Murphy, hitting leadoff for the first time this season, hit his ninth home run off the top of the wall in right field in the third inning.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – Oregon coach Mark Helfrich wouldn’t comment on a report that quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. has a broken index finger on his right hand. CSNNW.com cited multiple sources in revealing that Adams’ finger was broken. Adams finished with 309 yards passing on Saturday. His finger was taped after the game when he spoke to reporters.

SEATTLE (AP) – Marshawn Lynch’s mom is calling for Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell to be fired in a post on Facebook. Delisa Lynch posted her comments late after her son was stopped on a fourth-and-1 run play in overtime as Seattle dropped its season opener to St. Louis 34-31 on Sunday. Delisa Lynch wrote that the run play on fourth-and-1 against the Rams was called only to justify the fact Seattle did not call a run play from the 1-yard line in the Super Bowl when Russell Wilson’s pass was intercepted by New England’s Malcolm Butler.

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) – The Green Bay Packers have placed Sam Barrington on season-ending injured reserve after the starting inside linebacker left the opener against Chicago with a foot injury. Converted outside linebacker Nate Palmer replaced Barrington. Green Bay faces another tough running back this weekend in Seattle’s Marshawn Lynch.
