MOLALLA, Ore. (AP) – A 21-year-old woman has died and two others are seriously injured after a vehicle crash near Molalla on Highway 211. State Police say Rosio Gonzalez of Woodburn died yesterday after her car drifted across the centerline and collided head-on with an oncoming pickup truck yesterday. PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The Corps of Engineers has resumed killing double-crested cormorants so the birds eat fewer juvenile salmon migrating down the Columbia River despite an ongoing legal battle with conservation groups. The Oregonian reports that contract workers shot 200 cormorants last week on East Sand Island to help reduce the size of North America’s biggest cormorant nesting colony by 57 percent over four years.

FARGO, N.D. (AP) – Trial has been pushed back for an Oregon man accused of supplying a powerful synthetic drug that led to several drug overdoses in North Dakota. Proceedings for Brandon Hubbard of Portland were scheduled to begin today but his defense attorney asked for the delay because the case is complicated.
