Brown says more than 110,000 acres are burning across Oregon.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) – The National Interagency Fire Center is calling in 200 active duty military troops to help fight roughly 95 wildfires burning across the West. Officials with the Boise-based agency say the troops will spend a few days training this week before they are sent to a wildfire. It’s the first time the military has been called in to help with wildfires since 2006.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Newberg’s city manager says she will resign amid allegations that she put the police chief on leave to cover up a relationship with an officer.
