11 hits power Eugene to 9-5 win

The Eugene Emeralds started the second half of the Northwest League season with a 9-5 win over the Boise Hawks last night at home.

The Hawks scored first, taking a lead in the top of the first inning, but the Ems tide it up in their turn at the plate. Boise retook the lead in the third, but Eugene went ahead in the fourth inning for good and cruised to the win on the strength of 11 hits. Donnie Dewees was two-for-four at the plate with a home run and three RBI.

The final game of the three game series is tonight at PK Park.
