PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Multnomah County deputies say they arrested a 34-year-old woman for boating while drunk after the propeller of the pontoon boat she was steering struck a swimmer’s leg. PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A Portland real estate developer pleaded guilty to lying to a bank about where he would direct the money from a loan. The Oregonian reports Roger Pollock told Banner Bank in 2008 that the $5 million loan would go to build a new headquarters for his company in Lake Oswego. But prosecutors said he steered at least $700,000 to a resort project in Mexico.

RENO, Nev. (AP) -Scientists are helping federal forest and range managers expand the use of cameras to spot wildfires. The goal is to detect fires faster, especially in unpopulated areas where fires can burn several hours or even days before anyone reports them. A camera placed on Midas Peak north of Battle Mountain spotted a fire more than 100 miles away in Oregon.
