The Eugene Emeralds fell to the Canadians last night in Vancouver, 3-1. It was Eugene’s third straight loss and their 9th in 11 games.

The two teams meet again tonight to wrap up their series; the Emeralds will be back at PK Park in Eugene tomorrow against the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes.

Viking football will be holding mini clinics this evening and tomorrow from six to eight pm at the high school practice field. Several sessions are scheduled for Friday afternoon, including a 3:00 scrimmage with a squad from Eugene’s Sheldon High School.

Coach Tim Dodson said parents and fans can download an app for their smart phone this year to keep track of the team. He said just put “Siuslaw Football” in the search line in the app store.

The Siuslaw Vikings start the season with the annual Blue and Gold Game August 28th at Hans Peterson Field… their first game is a week later in Newport against the Cubs.
