MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) – A Jackson County jury has found a father guilty of asking someone to beat up his baby sitter after she made comments that caused him to temporarily lose custody of his child. The Medford Mail Tribune reports that Corey Fenton was convicted yesterday of soliciting fourth-degree assault and conspiracy to commit fourth-degree assault.

MCMINNVILLE, Ore. (AP) – Police in McMinnville say they have arrested two former employees of a dental practice who are accused in a long-term theft case involving thousands of dollars. Capt. Dennis Marks said Linda Hixson of McMinnville was arrested for investigation of aggravated theft, fraudulent use of a credit card, forgery and computer crime. Sherry McMullen of Amity was arrested for investigation of theft.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – Eugene police are looking for a man accused of falling through the ceiling of two businesses in an attempt to steal property. The Register-Guard of Eugene reports that the man fell through the ceiling of a J.C. Penney store and an office building on June 30.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Court documents say a man accused of robbing a Portland bank wrote an apology note to a bank teller after his arrest. The Oregonian reports that James Kenneth Lee Jr. is accused of passing a note to a teller at Key Bank that announced he was robbing the bank. After he was handed $694 in cash, he got away but was arrested later. Jail records show he is also accused of failing to register as a sex offender.
