SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) – A mother of five from Oregon is facing possible child endangerment charges after police in Southern California arrested her on suspicion of leaving her sons in a hot car. The Orange County Register reports police who responded to a call yesterday arrested the 36-year-old Harmiston woman on suspicion of child endangerment. The boys are aged 2 to 6 years. They were placed in a children’s home.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – Eugene Police say two people are dead after shots were fired and a house burned down. Investigators say officers were dispatched to a house early Saturday after reports of gunfire and arrived to find the home in flames. The cause of their deaths will be determined by the Lane County Medical Examiner.

CORNELIUS, Ore. (AP) – Sheriff’s Deputies in Cornelius have arrested an ice cream truck operator on drunken driving charges while he was selling ice cream to children. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office says a resident on Friday night reported that an ice cream truck drove into oncoming traffic and twice hit a curb. Deputies arrested Noe Andrade Silva, as he was selling ice cream to kids out of his music-playing van.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) – The Thunder will keep center Enes Kanter after matching an offer sheet by the Portland Trail Blazers. Oklahoma City acquired Kanter in a trade with the Utah Jazz last season, and he helped the Thunder while Kevin Durant and Serge Ibaka battled injuries. A person with knowledge of the details told The Associated Press that he signed a four-year, $70 million offer sheet with Portland last week.
